If rum is your tipple of choice, this is one event you certainly won't want to miss...
The UK's first travelling rum festival isheading to the fine city this weekend, showcasing over 100 different types of rum and offering an exciting range of live entertainment.
Taking place at OPEN Norwich on Bank Plain, the festival will be divided into three sessions, the first starting on Friday, May 12 with an evening event from 6.30pm to 11.30pm, followed by two sessions on Saturday, May 13, at 12.30pm and 6.30pm respectively.
Each guest will be gifted a Rum Festival glass and event brochure upon arrival and should expect to enjoy Caribbean and Cuban music performances, a selection of tasty street food, as well as salsa dancing and live blogs from industry experts during their session.
The rum on offer will be grouped into six categories, (white, golden, dark, navy, spices and overproof) and £5 drink vouchers will be available so that people can try the various types, the price of which includes a mixer and fresh garnish.
• Tickets for The Rum Festival Norwich 2017 can be purchased online from opennorwich.org.uk with general admission costing £12.50 (plus £1.37 booking fee). Discounts are available for Norwich City staff.
