A permanantly-fixed big screen, that has been affectionately named 'Screeny McScreenface' by several fans on social media, was unveiled by Norwich City last Saturday, during their first home game of the season against Sheffield Wednesday.

Located in front of the Holiday Inn Hotel, between the Barclay Stand and the The South Stand, the innovative screen, which was supplied by stadium LED screen manufacturers ADI, is the first of its kind to be used in world football.

The screen rotates from left to right, allowing spectators to enjoy video content, including highlights from previous matches, replays of City's goals and an exclusive pre-match show.

Norwich supporters have taken to social media to express their opinions on the club's latest addition and a parody Twitter account for the screen has even been created, attracting over 100 followers in the space of a few days.

Many people have praised the introduction of the big screen, with Christopher Keeley proclaiming it to be 'NCFC's best signing of the summer' on Twitter and Sara Miah adding: 'Just loving our new rotating big screen. Adds a new dimension to the game!'

However not all were as impressed, with some spectators saying they were unable to read the font and others claiming it disrupted their view of the match.

Phil Burrows commented: 'Big screen blocking views since 2016', while Simon Alexander tweeted to Norwich City Football Club, asking them to 'sort out the font on the big screen so we can read it in the N&P!'

Others appear to be patiently waiting for the technology to backfire, with Chris Brown saying he was 'looking forward to when the big screen turns and gets stuck for the first time' and Nathan W asking: 'Any bets on the first player to smack a ball into the big new screen?'

As well as the big screen, the club has also installed more than 60 new small screens into concourse areas to allow supporters to enjoy games throughout the stadium.

Norwich City's head of marketing Ed Guichard told the club's official website: 'The big screen sees the latest enhancement in the matchday experience at Carrow Road and it's sure to have a big impact. In using the latest technology we've been able to install the first screen of its kind in any football ground in the world and we're really excited to unveil it.'
