It is one of the first sights for visitors coming to Norwich by train as it floats on the River Wensum by the station.
But the Norwich Sea Cadets' 'floating base', the TS Lord Nelson, otherwise known as the 'big grey boat', will be moving as the cadets relocate to an on shore base.
Martin Westgate from the Norwich Sea cadets said: 'TS Lord Nelson is coming to the end of its active life and the decision has been taken to move the unit's HQ to a land based site.
'The unit's management committee are currently working hard to secure suitable premises to operate from in the future with the objective of ensuring that Norwich Sea Cadets can continue to offer training and development with a maritime ethos to the young people of Norwich.'
On Saturday, September 9 the unit will be putting on displays and activities for the public on the boat as part of Norwich Heritage day.
