Supporters of the East Anglian Air Ambulance now have a new way to help save lives across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The charity has launched a text-to-donate number, so that supporters can text the word 'EAAA' to 70777 and donate 1.50 with between 73pc and 100pc, depending on the user's network operator, going directly to the organisation.

Steve Whitby, deputy chief executive, said: 'Text-to-donate is a simple service which only takes a few seconds to do and the benefits of this service mean that you can donate from anywhere at any time.

'We have people regularly contacting us asking where their nearest collection box is or when our next event is so they can come along and donate. This new way of giving means that you don't even need to leave your own home in order to help us.

'Just a small amount can make such a difference to the East Anglian Air Ambulance and we're grateful to everyone who donates to us no matter how they choose make their donation.'

Texts cost 1.50 plus users' standard network rate.

At least 100pc from Vodaphone, 99pc from O2, 94pc from Three, 88pc from Orange, 87pc from Orange and 73pc from T-Mobile will go to the charity.
