A supermarket giant has denied that it has plans for a new store in Wymondham.
Rumours are rife that Tesco is set to move into the town after a public consultation took place last week over plans for a supermarket at the former sale ground next to the railway station.
Bride Hall Developments, which is looking to build a 20,000sqft store off Station Road, has said that one of the big four food retailers will be moving to the site, but has declined to name which one.
A spokesman for Tesco today said: 'Tesco is always looking for new sites, but as far as I am aware, we have no plans.'
A second supermarket exhibition with a more refined set of plans will take place at Central Hall, Wymondham, on September 21.
