Ten charged over Downham Market disorder

Ten people have been charged after a five month police investigation into violent clashes in Downham Market, police said today.

Twenty-five youths, some carrying weapons, were involved in an incident in the town centre on the evening of Tuesday, January 17.

Twenty-five youths, some carrying weapons, were involved in an incident in the town centre on the evening of Tuesday, January 17.

The 10 have been charged with offences including possession of an offensive weapon, violent disorder and other public order offences.

They are due to appeal before King's Lynn magistrates on Tuesday.

Four more people have received a police caution after admitting public order offences in relation to this incident.

Another 12 people, arrested on suspicion of committing public order offences, have yet to be dealt with.
