A teenager has suffered serious injuries to his pelvis and leg following a crash in Norwich this afternoon.

Paramedics were called to Aylsham Road, outside Mecca Bingo, shortly after 4pm to reports that a moped and car had crashed.

A man in his late teens was treated by paramedics for injuries to his pelvis and right leg before being taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said the patient was conscious and breathing, but was in a 'large amount of pain'.

Police closed off the road while emergency services were on scene.
