A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a series of fires in Lowestoft overnight on Thursday last week, when mopeds and bins were set alight.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a series of fires in Lowestoft overnight on Thursday last week, when mopeds and bins were set alight.

Officers received a number of calls following fires in Lymm Road, Stoven Close, Montgomery Avenue, Bourne Road, Peddars Way, Malvern Rise, Yarmouth Road and an incident in Oulton Road where lit paper had been pushed into a shop window.

The 14-year-old was arrested at an address in Lowestoft earlier this morning and was taken into custody at Lowestoft Police Station, where he was interviewed by officers.

He has now been bailed to return to the station on November 24.
