A teenager has been arrested after trying to defraud an 84-year-old woman by posing as a police officer.
The 17-year-old was arrested in London after allegedly trying to scam the pensioner, who is from Brandon, out of money.
He told the victim she needed to withdraw money from her bank account and advised her that a taxi would collect the cash and take it to London.
The incident was reported to police and he was arrested late yesterday (Wednesday) on suspicion of fraud by false representation.
He is currently being held in custory for questioning at the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
