Norwich Gaming Festival is taking place on Monday May 28 - Sunday June 2. Gaming fans will be able to enjoy a week of free gaming fun, no ticket required.

Organised and run by The Forum Trust, the festival celebrates the cultural, creative and educational aspects of the gaming industry. It is for all ages, all levels of interest and expertise, and a great opportunity for local, national and international talent to showcase their expertise in game development and programming.

Last year, 40,000 visitors came to the festival and 2018 promises to be bigger and better than ever. The programme will include indie, mainstream and retro games, seminars, talks, workshops, demos and shows.

So far over 40 independent developers are set to showcase their games, giving visitors the chance to find out more about their creation.

Festival organisers are calling for developers and publishers who are keen to showcase their games, to get involved too.

Festival Project Manager, Richard Smith, said: “Norwich Gaming Festival is unique because of its emphasis showcasing the amazing creations of independent developers and highlighting the amazing career and educational opportunities available.

“If you have a game that you want to showcase there is no better opportunity or platform for thousands of people to play your game,” he added.

Local universities are also giving their support, with Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) being the festival’s lead education partner. Students will showcase their work, give talks and exhibit games throughout the festival. Visitors will also be able to find out more about the University’s gaming courses. The University of East Anglia (UEA) and Access to Games are also providing additional educational support.
