Taverham Veterinary Practice have become the first vets in Norwich to be awarded Hospital status by The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
Hospital status is the highest standard of accreditation a veterinary practice can achieve and is currently only held by around 7pc of practices in the UK.
Numerous inspections had to be passed in order to meet the standards, including ensuring nursing staff are on the premises round the clock, maintaining clinical standards, providing a range of specialist equipment and submitting to rigorous examination of premises and facilities.
Taverham vets currently consists of a main branch on Fir Covert Road, Norwich Night Vet, two branch practices in Costessey and Aylsham as well as a brand new hydrotherapy unit and luxury cattery.
A spokesperson for Taverham Vets said: 'Clients can rest assured that their pets are being cared for in the best environment, by highly qualified staff day and night alongside state-of-the-art facilities.'
