A star of both the small and big screens will cause a stir when she sails into Great Yarmouth for this year's Maritime Festival.

Kaskelot, a Danish three-masted barque is the first vessel confirmed for the festival, September 9-10, and is one of the world's largest remaining wooden tall ships.

She featured in Return to Treasure Island, The Three Musketeers, Cutthroat Island, David Copperfield and Alice in Wonderland, as well as the Poldark TV series. The 154.9ft-long Kaskelot traded off Greenland before she became a fisheries support vessel in the Faroe Islands. Her base today is Charlestown harbour, Cornwall.

Her appearance was announced to event sponsor companies last week: Seajacks, Peel Ports, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Eon, Statoil, Bateman Groundworks Ltd, Gardline, Norse, Persimmon, Elm Contracts and Stephenson Smart.
