While some people will not even brave the British sea during the summer, a group of fundraisers in Hunstanton battled the freezing temperatures for charity.

The Hunstanton Round Table Christmas Swim 2017 had swimmers in fancy dress come together to raise money for charity by braving the icy waters of the Wash from Hunstanton Central Prom.

The first swim took place in the 1950s and has been an annual tradition ever since. Now celebrating its 60th year hundreds of supporters came out to wish the swimmers well.

Over the years thousands of swimmers have taken part, raising thousands for charities and families in the area.

The idea of a Christmas Day Swim first came from George Raines, member of the Hunstanton Seagulls Swimming Club. Although the event started with only four swimmers, it has since grown to include more than 100.
