An inquest has been opened into the death of Sze-Ming Cheung, a cyclist who died in Swannington this month after being hit by a car.

Mr Cheung, 44, died in Reepham Road in Swannington on June 7.

Senior Coroner Jacqueline Lake told Norfolk Coroner's Court that Mr Cheung was born on December 27, 1973 in Hong Kong.

Mr Cheung ran Casey's fish and chip shop in Reepham Road, Hellesdon, with his family also running the next door Chung Hing Chinese take away.

Mr Cheung's cause of death was given as trauma as a result of a road traffic collision.

The former Hellesdon High School pupil died at the scene of the crash.

He was a member of Norwich Road Runners, had run with Coltishall Jaguars for many years and was a regular at Catton Park Run.

A 55-year-old driver was arrested at the scene on June 7, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Mr Cheung's inquest has been adjourned for a pre-inquest report on September 14, 2018.
