The Swaffham Rotary Club's annual charity golf day has raised over £4000 for both a cancer charity and an armed forces charity.

18 rounds of golf were played on one of the hottest days of the year on July 23, with money raised going to the Big C Cancer Charity and SSAFA.

Both charities entered teams in the competition and the Big C team lead by Dr Chris Bushby were the overall winners of the team competition, with Lenwade Electrical coming in second and the Swaffham GC Presidents team coming third.

The main sponsor of the event was Abel Homes and despite a lack of rain in the county for weeks, Swaffham Golf Club were able to provide a well prepared course.

Other competition winners included Stephen Curtis and Keith Creed and prizes were presented to the winners by Swaffham Rotary President Malcolm Whittley.
