Swaffham road re-opens after a pedestrian is seriously hurt

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries in a collision involving a lorry in Swaffham this afternoon.

Police and the fire crew were called to the Market Place, outside Premier Travel Agency, just before 12.40pm today and the road was closed for about 45 minutes.

The woman, thought to be aged about 40, was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said she had suffered injuries to both her lower legs.
