AFTER the wettest June on record and a miserable start to July – the sun has arrived.
Meteorologists are predicting the summer to finally begin this weekend with the hot weather continuing into next week.
A spokesman for University of East Anglia-based forecasters Weatherquest said temperatures could even be above average, as hot air from the tropics heats up soggy Suffolk and Norfolk.
He said: 'From today the weather should be mainly dry with a small risk of showers with temperatures of about 19C (65F).
'On Sunday it will be dry with sunny spells, although there might be a lot of cloud cover. But Monday and Tuesday look like having clear blue skies with temperatures of about 25C (77F) – the average for this time of year is about 22C (72F).'
But sadly, the warm weather, which is coming up from the Azores, will probably give way to slightly lower temperatures by the end of the week with more showers expected.
The spokesman added: 'There won't be a huge amount of rain but temperatures will come down by the end of the week.'
