Landowner, businessman and countryman Ian MacNicol, of the Stody estate in North Norfolk, has died suddenly at the age of 63.
A former national president of the Country Landowners' Association, Mr MacNicol, OBE, had a heart attack on Sunday.
He ran the award-winning estate of some 4200 acres, which also included the largest rhodendron garden in East Anglia.
He was chairman of North Norfolk Radio, which was based in covered farm buildings on the estate, near Melton Constable, and had extensive business interests in the West Country.
