They applied for places to help run a conference in Thetford by New Anglia Enterprise Advisor Network on how businesses and schools are working together.

To ensure that young people were at the core of the event, the organisers were helped by 11 students from Wymondham College, Taverham High School, Archbishop Sancroft High School and Litcham High School.

Each student was interviewed before being chosen to take part and were given detailed briefs to follow for the day. They covered roles including welcoming delegates at the reception desk, photography and introducing the speakers on stage.

Melvyn Ruff, programme lead for the New Anglia Enterprise Advisor Network, said: “This was a great experience for these students, from preparing for an interview to turning up at 7am, it certainly gave them a taste of the world of event management.”
