Bowlers wore novelty slippers ranging from puppy dogs to monster claws at an annual competition which raised £2,160 for charity.

Twelve teams of professionals from across the region battled for the McTear Williams and Wood Bowls Trophy when the contest was held at the Diss and District Bowls Club.

The highest scoring individual player was Ina Beurich of Leathes Prior, who won the coveted trophy.

The winning team was the Tufted Ducks - Mark Palmer of George Hazell and Co, Liam Walker of Anglia Finance, Ed Stott of Haines Watts and Tim Langston of McTear Williams and Wood.

Funds raised from the event went to the Little Ouse Headwaters Project - a charity set up by residents in 2002 to promote the conservation and enjoyment of the fenland habitats and landscapes of the upper valley of the Little Ouse.
