People are being urged to get weird with a beard on social media as a hospice launches a new fun festive campaign.

Shaving foam beards are popping up all over social media thanks to St Nicholas Hospice's 'StNicsBeard' Facebook fundraising campaign.

The charity, based in Bury St Edmunds, is asking people to don a 'StNicsBeard' made of shaving foam, take a selfie and share it on social media – nominating three friends to do the same - between now and Christmas.

The campaign launched on Sunday December 6 – St Nicholas Day - with more than 30 beards already shared on Facebook.

Jordan Hughes, St Nicholas Hospice Care Community Fundraiser, said: 'The #StNicsBeard campaign is a fun and easy way to spread a little festive cheer and show your support for the Hospice.

'We hope as many people join in as possible wearing their shaving foam beards, while also nominating friends to take part.'

Anyone wishing to make a donation at the same time as sharing their selfie can text FOAM15 and the amount they wish to donate to the Hospice (i.e. £3) to 70070.
