Sporting memorabilia will go under the hammer in Lowestoft on Friday night as part of a special fundraiser to help wounded troops.

The Lowestoft branch of the Royal Artillery Association will be holding the fundraiser for Help for Heroes at the Beaconsfield Club in Surrey Street.

For the past three months organisers have approached numerous local and national businesses and sporting clubs for items to either raffle or auction – and they hailed the response as fantastic with 250 tickets also sold for Friday's auction.

The list of auction items includes: boxing memorabilia, snooker cues signed by Steve Davis, football memorabilia signed by Sir Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters, Jimmy Greaves and John Terry, boxing gloves signed by four British champions and a Lowestoft and Yarmouth Rugby Club shirt signed by Will Carling and Rory Underwood. There will also be a 32in flat screen television among more than 30 items in the auction, along with raffle prizes to be won, live entertainment, a disco and karaoke and a basket meal.

Tickets cost 10 and for more details call Ron Bonnor on 01502 730426 or 07824 773432.
