Spate of criminal damage to cars in Yarmouth street

VANDALS smashed car windows and wing mirrors, dented vehicles and scrawled on them with a marker pen in a spate of criminal damage.

The incidents in the early hours of Sunday, May 20 involved a number of cars in Lichfield Road and Anson Road, Great Yarmouth.

Police have conducted house to house enquiries in the area and found several people heard noises between 2am and 2.30am.

A spokesman said: 'Several vehicles were written on with felt-tip or marker pen, while others had wing mirrors or windows broken and dents caused to paintwork.'

Enquiries are being made to trace those involved and police are asking anyone who may have seen any of the incidents, or anyone with information about those responsible to call local beat manager PC Gavin Lynch at Great Yarmouth on 101.

Officers are also urging residents to contact police immediately using 999 if they suspect any crime may be in progress. Police are on patrol 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will respond as quickly as they can.
