A group of intrepid folk bedded down on a church floor for the night to raise money for a charity aiming to make positive change in communities.
Eight local people, including Rector Simon Pitcher, were sponsored to sleep in the newly rededicated St Edmund's Church in Southwold on Saturday, December 2 through to Sunday morning.
The effort was part of The Advent Sleepout Challenge, a campaign run by the Church Urban Fund (CUF) which sees people stand up to homelessness by sleeping out.
Among the primary goals of the CUF is help marginalised people transform their lives and to speak out against injustice.
Jill Horne, one of the participants, said: 'Our new facilities were put to good use by kind supporters who brought us a nightcap and a very welcome breakfast.
'Sleep eluded most of us but it was truly inspirational to sleep in our beautiful nave and be watched over by the angels suspended from our roof.'
The group raised over £1000 for CUF.
