Southwold brewed honey beer will mark the Royal Wedding

Independent Suffolk brewer Adnams is creating a celebratory beer to mark the Royal wedding.

The beer, complete with a specially designed label, will be available in cask from April 4, just weeks before Prince William and Kate Middleton marry at Westminster Abbey on April 29.

Unveiling the new ale, head brewer Fergus Fitzgerald said: 'Adnams has a history of brewing special beers to mark Royal Weddings, three generations of them, so we couldn't let this one pass without opening up the recipe book again.

'The new recipe for our latest Royal Wedding ale celebrates a new generation of Royals and its classic but vibrant design supports this too.

'The beer is amber gold in colour with a sweet floral aroma from the heather honey. On the palate, it has a slight floral sweetness balanced by the biscuity malt and crisp bitterness.'

Adnams has been brewing from its base at Southwold for over 100 years.
