Southwold and Halesworth's Patrick Stead hospitals are to close following a unanimous vote on the centres' futures today.
The move is part of HealthEast's plan to replace them with out-of-hospital services and beds in care homes.
The decision was voted for at today's meeting of HealthEast's governing body.
In a public consultation earlier this year about 56% of the 1,181 respondents said they were against the closures.
