A north Norfolk community choir is preparing for a concert celebrating 400 years of royalty through music.
Southrepps Chorale will perform the concert, titled Crown Imperial, at North Walsham Parish Church on Sunday, July 22, from 7.30pm.
It will also be reprised at the Southrepps Classical Music Festival at St James Church, on Tuesday, August 7.
Stephen Richards, musical director of Southrepps Chorale, said: 'It is the 65th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, so it was interesting to build a programme around her but extend it to other royal events over the past 400 years.
'The earliest music we are singing dates from King Charles II in 1661 and the latest music featured is by John Tavener, written in 1993 and so memorably performed at Princess Diana's funeral service in 1997.'
He added: 'The music also ranges from Zadok the Priest by Handel, sung at every coronation since 1727, through to Parry's I Was Glad sung at every coronation since 1901, to Handel's Eternal Source of Light Divine written in 1713 and sung most recently to a worldwide audience at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markel.'
