The Diss Waveney Rotary Club has raised more then £1,000 for charity from a host of events across the Christmas period.

The club toured many streets in Diss and Roydon, with Santa and his reindeer meeting children while residents donated.

President Janet Turner said her and the members were overwhelmed with the positive reception from adults and children. The sleigh stopped in a number of locations, including Diss Market Square and the Mere's mouth, where many children and 'grown up' children had their photos taken on the sleigh.

A total of £1,252.86 was raised, which will be used to aid charities supported by the club.

Ms Turner added: 'We hope everyone who saw santa, his sleigh, reindeers and happy elves enjoyed the experience as much as the Diss Waveney Rotarians did. The club intends to be touring with Santa again next year, spreading some more Christmas Cheer and fellowship.'
