The May 13 event attracted scores of visitors who were able to talk to people at stalls representing the groups that regularly use the venue.

Rev Jacqui Horton from Wymondham Methodist Church, which runs the centre, said: 'We had a really great day with many people visiting the open day with the user-groups hosting stalls and activities.

'There was a re-dedication and cake-cutting ceremony, then Pam led an event in the evening in which she introduced the stories of nine hymns and a packed church sang them.'

The event marked a return to Wymondham for Ms Rhodes, who opened the centre in 1992. The venue hosts events for older people, parents and toddlers, young carers, bereavement support, mindfulness and more.
