Organisers are putting the finishing touches to this year’s Somerton fete.

The annual fete has been running since 1990 and each year almost £3,000 is raised for Somerton Village Hall and St Mary’s Church.

This year’s fete is on Saturday, August 19 between 1pm and 4pm.

Traditional old fashioned games, a cafe serving tea and cakes and a tombola are among the many things available to take part in.

The Stokesby Strummers will also be performing during the afternoon.

The fete will be opened by the mayor of Great Yarmouth, Kerry Robinson-Payne.

There is a chance to win a £200 cash first prize in the grand draw with tickets on sale at the fete.

Gary Burckitt, one of the summer fete’s organisers, said: “The first prize has been donated in memory of Colleen, a stalwart of the fete and great worker at other community activities for many years.”
