West Norfolk awoke to around an inch of snow and icy roads.

But while many chose to stay home or postpone the shopping, these youngsters couldn't wait to get out in the snow.

While around 50 schools across the region were closed, the sledges were soon in action at South Wootton Junion School, as pupils and staff took to the playing field.

Drivers faced delays on their way into King's Lynn, with the A148 through the Sandringham Estate an icy crawl.

There were barely a dozen cars in the normally-packed Tuesday Market Place by 9am.

Great Northern was running a reduced train service between Cambridge and King's Lynn. Passengers were urged to check departure boards before travelling.
