A puppy that was found dumped in a bush in Downham Market, after being discarded as a Christmas present, has been rehomed and is 'settling in well' with his new owners.

As reported, Snoopi was discovered last month with a sign on him saying, 'Please look after me as my owner doesn't want me any more. I'll try my best to keep you happy. My name is Snoopi'.

A passer-by was walking along Bennett Street when she spotted a pet carrier sticking out of a hedge by the side of the road and then heard a quiet whimper.

Looking closer, she found a 14-week-old, black and white dog inside the cage hidden among the leaves with a sign on him.

Around Snoopi was a selection of brand-new equipment needed to look after a new dog – including a bed, dog food, dog training paraphernalia and a teddy bear.

Snoopi was taken to the RSPCA centre at Blackberry Farm in Buckinghamshire, and a spokesman for the charity said: 'Snoopi has gone to his new home, and is settling in well.'

Snoopi's new address has not been revealed.
