Police are appealing for information following the theft of a large quantity of lead from St Mary's Church in Cratfield near Halesworth.
It happened some time between 4.30pm on Friday, December 4 and 9.30am the following day.
Suspects stole what is estimated to be six tonnes of lead sheet from the church roof with a scrap value of approximately £4,500 although the cost of replacing the lead will be considerably higher.
The area affected measures 88 square metres.
