Four teenage boys and two adult males, believed to be from Iran, were captured by police after they jumped out of the back of a lorry at Chatteris.

Police were called to Fenton Way just after 4pm on Monday (18) when witnesses saw the men jump from the HGV near the A141.

The four boys, who are in their late teens, were taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station in Peterborough while the two adult males were taken to King's Lynn Police station.

All are in custody while they await being handed over to immigration officials.

A police spokesman said it is believed the males are all from Iran.

Officers from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) based at Wattisham in Norfolk joined forces with Cambridgeshire Police to attend the incident.

A spokesman said they received reports saying 'six to seven people have just jumped out the back of an HGV.'
