Six fishermen had to be rescued after their boat suffered a gearbox failure.

Hunstanton lifeboat was launched shortly after 9.10am today to reports of a broken down vessel in the Freeman channel.

The six people aboard the broken-down vessel had been on an angling trip at the Wash when their boat developed gearbox problems.

Its captain had contacted Humber Coastguard for assistance.

The volunteer lifeboat crew, aboard the Spirit of West Norfolk, arrived on scene at 9.45am. The boat was towed back to Boston, Lincolnshire.
