A St George's Day event at the Railway Tavern in Dereham on Sunday will feature local band Polaris.

Formed in 2008 Polaris, fronted by former Dereham mayor Robin Goreham, has now played around 300 shows, and plays the sounds of the Sixties, classic rock 'n roll, soul and blues.

They will form part of an all day St George's Day celebration at the pub with landlord Paul Sandford arranging a fun packed day of music and activity featuring morris dancing, a disco and Polaris on stage at 6pm.

Mr Goreham said: 'Paul has asked us to put the emphasis on English music so we will be featuring music from the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Beatles, The Searchers, The Troggs and Cliff Richard - as well as a few well known numbers from our American cousins.'

The event, which starts at 12pm, has a red and white theme and everyone is encouraged to wear their colours with pride.
