This year's Royal Norfolk Show could be headed for a record turnout after official figures for the first day's attendance were announced.
Exactly 53,056 people came through the showground gates yesterday. Similar figures are likely today and may even be boosted by a huge number of school children, including a record number of 109 coach parties.
And with a slightly warmer and sunnier day today, the all time best figure of 105,126, in 1995, could be bettered.
Final figures are likely to be announced on Friday morning.
