Shortts Brewery, based in Eye has won the CAMRA award for Two Tone, a dark mild ale, with chocolatey and sweet biscuity malt flavours.

The beer was put forward for the title after winning gold in the mild beer category after several blind tastings at CAMRA festivals across the county.

From there it was then entered into the contest to win title of Champion beer.

Receiving the award at The King’s Head in Norwich, Matt Hammond, owner of Shortts Brewery said the brewery, which was set up in 2012, started experimenting with a mild beer three years after it was set up.

“It’s absolutely amazing to win, we’re a really small brewery, and when we started in 2012 I didn’t have a lot of experience.

“So I feel really proud, I think it just shows hard work pays off,” he said.
