A man was arrested in Dereham after shoplifting and assaulting a store manager.
He was allegedly stealing summer clothes from Peacocks, and was seen stuffing items into a bag by an employee, who called her manager.
She said the man: 'wrestled her to the floor' when the manager tried to take the bag.
She continued: 'I took his bag off him and then he tried to run out of the back door.
'He dropped his phone and my manager picked it up, and then he threatened to hit her.'
The manager was described as having: 'scratches all up her arms'.
Police were called to the store on Wright's Walk at 1.10pm on Thursday, August 24, after another employee phoned emergency services.
