A Norfolk cleaning company keen to 'give back' to the communities supporting it has given Sheringham war memorial a free makeover, just in time for Remembrance Sunday.

Variblast, which is based at Framingham Pigot, near Norwich, was contacted by Sheringham town councillors, who had heard about the company's previous efforts to restore war memorials at Dereham, Sprowston and Great Yarmouth.

Thanking the Variblast team for their hard work, Sheringham mayor Madeleine Ashcroft said: "This will be much appreciated by the town and the community, who are rightly proud of the people the memorial represents and remembers.

Variblast managing director Warren Farrow said: "As a local businessman I would like to give a little back to those who gave so much to us all and we have now decided to carry this on as an annual gesture across Norfolk."
