A 21-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after his car left the road and collided with a tree earlier today.

The accident happened on the B1108 Watton Road in Bawburgh, near Norwich, at around 5.15am.

Emergency services were called to the scene, including fire and ambulance, and the man driving the blue Vauxhall Corsa, which had been travelling towards Norwich, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious injuries. His condition is currently being described as serious.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a black VW Golf which is believed to have been in the vicinity around the time of the incident. The driver may be able to provide vital information relating to what happened and officers would urge them to make contact.
