A woman remains in hospital with life threatening injuries following a crash on the A47 at Thickthorn.

The incident happened on Friday July 13, just after 11am, near the A11 slip-road at the Thickthorn junction when a black Audi A5 and silver Ford Fiesta were involved in a crash.

Three people inside the Fiesta had to be cut free from the car and were taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

The driver, a woman in her 60s, suffered serious injuries which are now being treated as life threatening. She remains in hospital in a stable condition while two passengers suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Audi, a man in his 50s, was not injured.

The road was closed while emergency services deal with the crash and reopened at 2pm.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the incident. Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have information concerning the driving manner of the Audi (2016 plate) on the A47 west bound prior to the crash.
