A bereaved mother who set up a charity in memory of her stillborn daughter is set to appear on hit TV show Secret Millionaire.

Karen Murray-Tye, 33, a former Hellesdon High School pupil, set up Hana's Gift in memory of her daughter to help other families in the tragic situation.

Mrs Murray-Tye, who has two other children, Eloise and Connor, might soon be able to help even more people through Hana's Gift though, after appearing on the Channel Four show, which sees millionaires go undercover in deprived areas to find out who needs their help.

Mrs Murray-Tye – who can't reveal how much money she received until after the show has aired at midnight on Sunday, October 30 – said: 'I was contacted by a TV production crew back in April who said they were interested in featuring Hana's Gift in a documentary about people helping their local community.

'As far as I was aware, the millionaire, Edward Douglas-Miller, was a rookie reporter interested in what we do.

'He came along to a quiz night we organised at The Cottage pub on Thunder Lane [Thorpe St Andrew] in May and also came with me to meet some of the families we've helped.'

Mrs Murray-Tye said he also came to her house in Aylsham to find out more about how Hana's Gift started.

She added: 'It came as quite a shock when Ed revealed who he really was. Ed is one of the kindest, most endearing people I have ever met and my family and I can't thank him enough for what he has done.'
