Police are carrying out searches beside the A11 in Thetford in an effort to find a missing 54-year-old man.

Tomasz Czech went missing from his Chester Way home in Thetford on Friday night, leaving at about 6pm to take his dog for a walk, and he has not been seen or heard from since.

A Norfolk police spokesman said: 'Following the discovery of the dog's collar at the side of the A11 near the Brandon Road roundabout, officers are today searching the nearby area for Tomasz and his dog.'

Mr Czech is described as white, about 5ft 8in in height and of average build. He has black hair and was wearing a black jacket with green markings on it, blue jeans and black trainers when last seen.

The dog is described as being a large brown boxer dog, and Mr Czech would normally walk his dog for extended periods in the wooded area and pathways adjacent to the Little River Ouse towards the general direction of Brandon before returning home along the same general direction.
