Scout numbers on the rise in Norfolk - again

The number of young people involved in Scouts in Norfolk has risen for the ninth year running, to 8,174.

The total is the highest this century, and includes 26 per cent of girls, who joined at a faster rate than boys for the third year in a row.

Across the county, there are 115 Scout groups, made up of 112 Beaver colonies, 122 Cub packs and 106 Scout troops, with 45 Explorer Scout and 12 Young Leader units, led by 1,673 adults volunteers.
