Keep your heads warm and put on your favourite bobble hat to raise money for bereaved children of the armed forces.
King’s Lynn children’s charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers is calling on the public to get their hats on tomorrow and to make a small donation which will make a big difference to a bereaved child this Christmas.
Charity founder Nikki Scott said: “Christmas is one of the toughest times of year for children who have experienced the loss of a parent.
“It’s the time of year when everyone comes together as a family and not having your mum or dad with you at such a young age can make you feel very alone.
“By taking part in Bobble Hat Day and donating to Scotty’s, you’re helping us continue the vital support needed at this time of year and beyond.
“Scotty’s is like a big family for our members and at Christmas we make sure they never feel alone.”
Staff from accountants Mapus-Smith and Lemmon LLP, based in King’s Lynn and Downham Market, will be showing their support to the campaign.
Partner and director, Sharon Edwards, said: “All of our staff are very much looking forward to wearing their bobble hats. We all enjoy raising money for charity.
“Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity we all greatly admire for the work they do supporting children who have lost a parent serving in the British Armed Forces and it always feels good to support a local charity.”
Scotty’s Little Soldiers was set up in 2010 by war widow Nikki Scott following the death of her husband and father to her two children, Corporal Lee Scott.
The charity now supports over 300 children across the UK, providing a vital support network to children and young adults who have lost a parent while serving in the British Armed Forces and reassures them that they are not alone.
To take part in Scotty’s Bobble Hat Day, wear your favourite, quirkiest bobble or festive hat tomorrow and text ‘BHAT17 £2’, ‘BHAT17 £5’ or ‘BHAT17 £10’ to 70070 to donate to Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
