A ten-year-old schoolgirl has received a special prize from the Queen.

Megan Byatt was invited to Sandringham House with her parents Paul and Sarah to be presented with a bible signed by the monarch last Sunday.

She won the Queen's Bible Award through her school Sandringham and West Newton CE Primary School, which is a stone's throw away from the Royal residence.

Megan, who lives in Leziate, near Kings Lynn, said: 'I was very excited but nervous at the same time when we were driving to come up here to meet the Queen.

'She was very kind and we spoke about lots of things. I am just amazed I got to meet the Queen and I can't wait to tell everyone at school because I'm really proud.'

Her mum Sarah added: 'The Queen was really friendly and asked us lots of questions, and was really interested with what we had to say.'
