Children from a village in mid Norfolk enjoyed an activity filled day learning the history of a bone mill as part of their local history studies.
The 40 pupils from Narborough Primary Academy did not let the wet conditions on Wednesday, May 2, deter them from trying out metal detecting and magnet fishing, and having the various features of the Victorian mill explained to them.
They learned about the process of turning bones into fertiliser, and what working conditions in the mill would have been like.
They were also the first group to see the newly completed model of the mill as it is thought to have looked in the 19th Century.
Also joining the trip was Breckland District Councillor Pete Wilkinson, who has given his backing to the mill project and helped it to secure district council funding.
