A new project for families in Lowestoft will be available throughout the school holidays.
After a successful launch of the scheme, entitled FISH – Food In School Holidays – two months ago, the Lowestoft Community Church and the Carlton Road Salvation Army have teamed up to help support vulnerable families in the community.
FISH offers a free cooked meal on Fridays, once a week, for children and their families – either a breakfast or lunch – along with some craft activities and plenty of fun. The aim of the project is to help families out during the holidays when they aren't getting their funded school meals. It runs for six weeks from Friday, July 28 between 9.30am and 11.30am at the Carlton Road Salvation Army.
A spokesman said: 'We need families to book in to the meals either by contacting the Lowestoft Community Church office on 01502 537527 or visit www.lowestoftcommunitychurch.co.uk'
