A police officer who was on his way to a first aid training course had to rescue an injured piglet from the road.

PC Steve Lee, a roads police officer, was travelling along the A47 this morning when he came across the little animal.

There were reports of two other piglets in trouble and officers from Norfolk and Suffolk's Roads Policing Unit were called to assist Mr Lee on the southern bypass between the A147 and A140.

Officers helped clear the road and attempted to track down the owners of the piglets.
